Tip - How to install New Releases of Software (Firefox v29)

A good way to go about installing NEW UNKNOWN SOFTWARE VERSIONS is to do a CUSTOM INSTALLATION, and install it alongside the other (originally installed Firefox Version).

Give it a new FOLDER NAME, like: "Firefox 29" or "FF29" !
In that case you can always go back to the older Version just by clicking on the relevant Shortcut !!

Using this technique for a while now and it does work.
When you feel happy with the later Firefox Versions and you don't need the older versions any longer, you can go and UNINSTALL them carefully !

Firefox Settings to change:

Also remember to change the auto update of your browser to just notify for that to take place!
- Then you are in charge!

  1. Tools
  2. Options
  3. Advanced
  4. Updates
  5. Set to "Check for updates, but let me choose whether to install them."
  6. OK

So in that case you would have to DOWNLOAD the latest Version directly and _NOT_ just do an Update from within Firefox.
Actually go to http://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/all.html — International Versions (in over 80 languages)
… and download it before the install!
